From Love Letters - sent and received, May 2004…

I find myself with eyes closed and a smile on my face - remembering and looking forward. I feel as though I am embarking upon a voyage of adventure and discovery. A gentle breeze flaps the sails and sings gently amongst the rigging. My heart sings along. Waves lap at the hull and the boat creaks and groans a little as it sways to and fro in the water - eager to depart. I stand at the helm gazing at the distant horizon and wonder what I shall find there...

You come down from your look out and go about placing fine foods and spring water in the hold to feed us on the journey. I gather the lightest cotton linens to cover our bodies on the warmer days and protect our skin from the sun. For the biting cold nights that I know lie ahead on the winter at sea, I am searching for the softest silk velvet in shades of midnight blue and crimson to keep us warm as we will lie and speak, rocked in down-soft quarters. With friends at the helm on this night, the ship cuts through waves in the dark above deep water and we dream below.

In my dreams I shall glide over seas and through space with you by my side.
